HOPE Council and Club Breakaway
Tuesday, Jul 13, 2010

Founded in 1968 and incorporated in 1969, the mission of the HOPE Council is to reduce the impact of alcohol and other drug abuse and empower individuals and families to become stable, self-reliant and responsible by providing education, prevention, intervention and referral services.

In collaboration with Club Breakaway, the HOPE Council will hold a six-week session of I Am Special, a project for elementary-aged children who are from homes where alcohol and other drug abuse is a concern. Sessions are held the following Friday evenings: July 16, 23 and 30, and August 13, 20 and 27. Sessions meet from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., the same time of Club Breakaway’s most popular 12-step meeting. Club Breakaway is located at 8017 Sheridan Road, Kenosha. Children who attend I Am Special are expected to be at every session.

There is no cost for these educational sessions where children will learn effective tools for communication and problem-solving and share thoughts on families, alcohol and other drug abuse, and defenses.
