Milwaukee's “North Country” purveyors Hugh Bob & The Hustle come home to play two music festivals, The Summer Soulstice Music Festival on June 22nd at East Murray and North Avenues, and Summerfest on July 5th at Henry Maier Festival Park. Hugh Bob & The Hustle is led by singer-songwriter Hugh Robert Masterson who grew up in the song’s namesake of Butternut, Wisconsin – a quaint but fading small town with decrepit mills, dirt roads, farms, beat down bars, and a population of 300. “It’s the kind of place where the silence is deafening and the stars are so bright you can feel nothing but humbled,” says Masterson. The band’s masterful self-titled debut album brings to life this slice of classic Americana with ruggedly poetic lyrics and sweetly winsome roots rock.
