The Yellow Dog Project is a global movement for parents of dogs who need space. Many of the dogs who enter the program come from unknown backgrounds. The Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center slowly introduces them to different experiences and acclimates them to the lifestyle they’re hopeful to enjoy post-adoption. By placing a yellow ribbon on the leashes of our dogs in foster care, they’re participating in the Yellow Dog Project by sending a message that requests space and understanding. It does not mean the dogs are unsocial or aggressive or fearful, it simply means it's a work in progress.
