The House of Peace is a Capuchin ministry, located on Milwaukee’s near North side on 17th
& Walnut. It was founded by Brother Booker Ashe in 1968. The mission remains the same
45 years later; to serve the community by assisting families and individuals in meeting their
spiritual, material, and emotional needs, helping to keep families together and promote self-
sufficiency.  They have a food pantry, clothing closet, a medical clinic through UWM, a legal
clinic through Marquette University, and a teen leadership program through Cardinal Stritch
University.
