Dr. Vasquez joined the faculty of Alverno College in 1999. She is an associate professor of psychology and teaches in the undergraduate and graduate programs at Alverno. Her teaching interests center on research methods and statistical analyses but also include interdisciplinary topics such as behavioral economics, science and pseudoscience, and power and prejudice. Her published work similarly spans a number of topics, with a focus on three themes: prejudice and morality, body image, and critical thinking. Dr. Vasquez was recently honored for her commitment to helping students address important social problems through research when the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues presented her with its national Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award.
Dr. Vasquez holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a B.A. in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a member of the Association for Psychological Science, Society for the Teaching of Psychology, and Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues.
