The Machine Shed joins us to cook up another tasty dish, live in the studio. This time, they're making some delicious apple dumplings with a tasty cinnamon sauce. Here's the recipe:
Apple Dumplings – By The Machine Shed
6 peeled and cored Rome apples
6 teaspoons cinnamon sugar
24 oz pie dough rolled into 6 – 6 x 6 inch squares
3 teaspoons margarine
Sauce
2 cups sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
4 cups of water
2 tablespoons of margarine
Place pie dough squares on a floured surface. Place apple in center, spoon in 1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar in each apple. Take a small amount of margarine and cover hole in apple. Bring all four sides up one at a time and crimp all edges. Place in a well greased squared cake pan in a small sauce pan. Bring sugar, water, cinnamon and margarine to a boil. Pour over prepped apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake at 350 for one hour. Allow to cool to room temperature before removing. Serve either warmed or cool. Great with cinnamon ice cream.
